Muscoda Area Exudes Rural Charm
Muscoda is at the heart of the Lower Wisconsin State Riverway so naturally the Wisconsin River attracts many to visit the area and even convinces some to live nearby. During summer, many people enjoy canoeing and camping on the sandbars surrounded by scenic river bluffs. Muscoda’s Victora Park is also a popular camping spot for overnight river trips; and of course fishing is near the top of the list of favorite river activities.
Being located in the Driftless Area of southwest Wisconsin means the land in the Muscoda area is a rich tapestry of hills and valleys. Agricultural fields intermingle with wooded hillsides and trout streams wind through many valleys. This naturally creates a wildlife haven and supports many game species especially deer and turkeys. Hunters, fishermen, and others get away from the hustle and bustle of city life by coming for a weekend at their cabin and enjoying a little rural R&R.
Dairy farms are plentiful but local operations also include apple orchards and vineyards. Visiting an orchard during apple harvest time lets you sample many varieties of apples as well as enjoy apple baked goods and hot cider. Wine tasting at a number of artisan wineries is available daily and one can enjoy your fill of numerous world class cheese varieties produced by several local cheesemakers. Many offer tours of their factories for those interested in the cheese making process.
Muscoda’s small town atmosphere along with the many outdoor sporting opportunities combines to make an idyllic place. Let our country roads lead you home. Come visit the Muscoda Area and absorb some rural charm.
